Meet the Candidate
Yolanda Davidson
Lifelong Inglewood Resident. Community Advocate. Ready to Lead.
2026
District #1
Yolanda Davidson has called Inglewood home her entire life. She grew up in District #1, raised her family here, and has spent decades working alongside neighbors to make this community stronger, safer, and more equitable.
I am Yolanda Davidson, a wife, mother, lifelong Inglewood resident, college graduate, community servant, truth seeker, and activist who believes our city is strongest when the people get involved and are heard. I am a proud alumna of the Los Angeles African American Women’s Public Policy Institute (LAAAWPPI) and the California Black Women’s Collective, and I’ve completed training through the Congressional Black Caucus Institute. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside families seeking justice after violent crimes in Inglewood. I have supported efforts to gain local control of the Inglewood Unified School district, also advocating for transparency, accountability at City Hall, and fairness. I have also brought together concerned community members to form a grassroots alliance because I believe lasting change happens when residents stand together and make their voices heard. Whether I’m supporting small businesses, speaking at City Hall, helping organize my neighbors, standing up to the billionaires and bullies, or demanding justice for victims, my goal has always been the same: to fight for the Soul of Inglewood and help build a city where government is transparent, accountable, and responsive to the community it serves.
I am running because Inglewood deserves a council member who is accountable to the people, not to special interests. A neighbor who picks up the phone. A leader who gets things done. I am loyal to Inglewood and its residents, not politicians or corporate interests. I work hard in this community and will continue to do so for the legacy of my parents and my daughter's future.
What Drives Yolanda
Rooted in Inglewood
I was born at Centinela Hospital. I attended Frank D. Parent School. I have lived in Morningside Park for over 4 decades. I raised my daughter in this community.
Accountable Leadership
One of the issues I hear most is that our leaders are not accessible. I am easy to reach, my phone number is on my Facebook page
Community First
Every decision I make will be measured against one question: does this make life better for the people of District 1?
Community Trust
Voices of Support
Yolanda has earned the trust of neighbors, faith leaders, and community organizations across Inglewood.
"I met Yolanda during the worst time of my life, the death of son. She drew us closer. I had never met anyone like her. She was very compassionate and caring showing concern and passionate about getting to the bottom of what happen to my son"
Yolanda has done EVERYTHING for the Wood to make it better. Putting her on the city council means your voice shall be heard. Place your vote for Yolanda Davidson in the City of Champions.
